I fully admit that this may seem like a terrible idea around day 20 something. I can’t even think how I’m going to feel come day 77. But, I’m diving in because nothing motivates me like a list full of good ideas and actual resources to go from “yeah, that sounds cool” to OMG I actually did it!
Yesterday, AppSumo did an epic post about how to get more traffic to your site. They came up with 130 ideas.
I decided to try it out. Not one of them, ALL of them. I’m going to start at number one and do one each day. Today is day one.
Post on Quora In Relevant Subjects
Quora is a question-and-answer website where questions are asked, answered, edited and organized by its community of users.
This concept is simple enough. I use the #soundadvice hashtag so you already know I’m fine giving answers and dispensing advice on topics where I know a little something. While Quora wasn’t new to me, I had not set up a profile or really done much other than look at a few links others had provided.
I spent about an hour setting up my profile and completing a few getting started steps. I referred to the great post at Kissmetrics. I followed all of their suggestions and completed my profile, answered a question and asked one too.
I’ll let you know how it goes with new traffic. If you’re a Quora user/contributor, I’d love to know your opinion. What works for you? How do you find this resource helpful?
This is great if you’re looking for low/no budget ideas. If you are already swamped with work, it might feel like another task on your already full to-do list.
I definitely find this a valuable resource. I research all types of business models and industries for my clients and this is a goldmine of info on about any topic you can think of.
Tomorrow day 2 of the challenge! Who’s with me?
